Josue lives wih his father and mother. His father is sometimes employed as a farmer. His mother is not employed. Josue helps helps his family by being good. He is too young to help around the house.
Josue's favorite activities are art or drawing, rolling a hoop and playing soccer(futbal). Josue is note old enough yet to take part in activities desigend for preschool and elementary-age children. At this age, having someone to love and take care of him can mean the difference between life and death. ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Your sponsored child lives in the rural municipality of Cuisnahuat, home to about 14,6000 people. Spanish is the common language. Typical houses are constructed of metal roofs, adobe walls and dirt floors. The regional diet consists of beans, maize and eggs. Common health problems include respiratory and stomach infections.
Seventy-seven percent of residents in Cuisnahuat live in extreme poverty. Most adults make a meager living by harming, working as day laborers, performing domestic services or selling good in the market. The average family income is about $150 per month. This community is affected by teenage pregnancy, broken families, alcoholism and high rates of school dropout. Residents need jobs, access to heath care, medicine and doctors, health education, recreational centers and financial support to send children to school.
Your sponsorship allows the staff of El Rebano de Jesus Child Development Center to provide your sponsored child with Bible teaching, health screenings, counselling and testing for HIV, heath kits, hygiene and basic life-skills training, school fees, books, tutoring, computer classes, field trips, vocational training, career guidance, creative activities, birthday celebrations and community service opportunities.
